Hi,

Graham has worked on an very initial draft version of the merged BNF. We
were supposed to have a call on 8/4 but I did not send out the agenda in
time and this draft got posted on the webpage last night.

We will start reviewing this document from 8/11 onwards, 6a california
time. I am expecting this review to go over multiple sessions and we
will meet every alternate week, starting next week. I will remember to
send out an agenda also on time.

This can be downloaded from the following link:

Graham's notes:

1) Inserted the AMS syntax (highlighted in blue) from Verilog-AMS LRM
2.3.1 and inserted it into equivalent sections in SystemVerilog syntax
that was provided.

2) The AMS syntax uses common 1364-2005 syntax that is either no longer
defined in SystemVerilog or it has changed. Therefore, I've gone through
merged AMS syntax and made changes to resolve these merging issues. Each
of the changes to the merged syntax has been accompanied with a note of
what I have done. These need to be checked for correctness.

There are still a unresolved merging items, they are:
   - Parts of the SystemVerilog syntax are significantly different from
1364-2005 syntax. For example, net, integer, real, register declaration
changes. As a result merging cannot be done properly without more time
for to analyze how best to merge it.
   - When merging the syntax, I have a number of questions. I have
inserted these questions into the document.

Thanks Graham, for putting this initial merged syntax together in a very
quick time for committee review.
