The Sealevel PROM-III provides the PC with 1MB of solid state storage. The PROM-III allows the use of FLASH EPROM, EPROM, or CMOS STATIC RAM (SRAM) devices. Unlike Volatile DRAM, the PROM-III-B maintains data when the PC is turned off or loses power. The PROM-III-B has an on-board lithium battery making data retention possible. The lithium battery supplies a minimum of one year data retention. FLASH EPROM programming software is included with the board.
