Subject: Product Discontinuance Notification
(PCN96009). "Discontinuation of the XC4000A
and XC4000H Product Families."
Products Affected: All
XC4000A and XC4000H Products (please note that this discontinuation does
not affect XC4000, XC4000D, XC4000E, XC4000EX, or any XC4000
Military Products)
Change Description: The
above two sub-families (XC4000A and XC4000H only) are being discontinued.
Reason For Change:
The markets that the XC4000A and XC4000H families were designed to address
are now better served by the newly introduced XC4000E family. The XC4000E
family delivers cost and performance advantages over the existing XC4000A
and XC4000H families. For designs that do not use RAM, the XC5200 family
offers additional cost benefits. Please contact your Xilinx representative
if you wish assistance in planning for this discontinuance.
Device Replacement
Guidelines: The XC4000E and XC5200 families are the target replacement devices for the XC4000A and XC4000H families. Please see the XC4000A Device Replacement Guide and the XC4000H Device Replacement Guide for more details.
Key Dates: Last Time
Buy (LTB) date to order either of the above sub-families of product is
30 September 1997 with the Last Time Ship (LTS) date on or before 30 March
1998. This gives our customers over eighteen months to plan for this product
discontinuance.
