Windows Advanced COM: Drivers Empower Serial I/O Applications
Sealevel Systems announces SeaCOM, a suite of Windows 95/98/NT
Advanced COM: drivers. SeaCOM provides support for shared IRQs,
advanced UARTs, and Auto RS-485 RTS control. Install a multiport
serial I/O adapter and assign all ports to a single IRQ. Take
full advantage of 16650, 16750, and 16850 advanced UARTs. The
advanced UART tab allows detailed control of UART features not
available in the standard Windows COM: driver. Auto RS-485 RTS
control is also included for cards that do not have Sealevel Systems'
ULTRA hardware circuit. SeaCOM retains the same straightforward
API (Application Programmer Interface) as the standard Windows
COM: driver, allowing developers to concentrate on the details
of the application as opposed to low level driver development.
Application development is supported by popular development environments
including Visual C++, Visual Basic, and Delphi.
ComBERT and ComTERM applications are included providing additional
functionality. ComBERT is a multithreaded bit error rate test
application for verifying COM: port performance. ComBERT can be
used in a loopback or point-to-point test configuration. ComBERT
tracks bit errors and sync losses while displaying transmit and
receive frame counts, the number of bytes verified, and driver
error statistics. ComTERM is an asynchronous binary and text file
transfer software application supporting XMODEM, XMODEM 1K,
Y-MODEM and Y-MODEM G protocols.
Sealevel Systems offers a full line of multiport PCI and ISA bus
Serial I/O cards. Products are available supporting RS-232, RS-422,
RS-485, and EIA-530 electrical specifications.
Available June 1, 1998. Other products are also available.
