Problem Title:
Diamond Speed Star 64: Translate or Design Manager hanging
Problem Description:
If translate or design manager hangs...
-Translate box appears empty or scrolls through information, but never
completes
-Mouse subsequently freezes and a reboot of the machine is required
-or Translate completes successfully the first time, but Design Manager then
hangs
Check Windows settings (Xilinx Solution #704), win32s (Xilinx Solution #697)
or (Xilinx Solution #706), as well as screen resolution settings.
Assuming the above and related suggestions do not fix the problem, it has
been observed that the Diamond Speed Star 64 from Diamond Multimedia causes
a conflict between the control tools and the XACT Development Software that
is evidenced by these symptoms.
Solution 1:
One solution has been to go to Windows Setup and use the standard VGA
driver instead of the Diamond Speed Star 64. (Resolution - 640 X 480 - 16
colors)
A better solution, however, is to contact Diamond Multimedia
(http://www.diamondmm.com ) and obtain the actual driver for the Cirrus Logic
Graphics Chip being used. This should provide a fix to the problem and
allow utilization of 1024 X 768 - 64K colors resolution.
