NGD2VER: Using the -ism to embed simulation models into the Verilog simulation netlist

Record #4098

Product Family: Software

Product Line: FPGA Implementation

Product Part: ngd2ver

Product Version: 2.1is1

Problem Title:
NGD2VER: Using the -ism to embed simulation models into the Verilog simulation netlist

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

General Description:
A new switch was added to the Alliance 1.5 version of NGD2VER,
the Verilog simulation netlister, in order to automatically embed the
simulation models into the netlist. This will allow for an easier
simulation flow by not having to pre-compile the SIMPRIM libraries
at the expense of a slightly longer compilation time of the netlist.

Solution 1:

This new switch is the -ism switch. In order to invoke this from
command-line, simply specify it when executing Ngd2ver:

ngd2ver -ism <design>.nga

In order to use this switch with the Design Manager, the switch
must be added to the Custom Template from the Template Manager.
See (Xilinx Solution 1227) for details on adding custom switches to
the Design Manager.
