Problem Title:

1.5i Service Pack 2 Data File Updates are available.


Problem Description:
The second Service Pack for version 1.5i is now available from the Xilinx
Software Update page:

http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates/index.htm

Included are device family specific data file updates for XC4000XLA, XC4000XV,
SpartanXL and Virtex. Please note the Dependency issues when installing these files.

*Foundation Users ONLY: To update the Foundation Project Manager's Part selector after having installed the Xilinx Device Data Files, please reference
(Xilinx Solution 6028)


Solution 1:

PC Installation:

1. Download the self extracting .exe file for the device familly needed.

2. Execute the .exe file.

3. Setup will be started automatically. You will be prompted for the location
    of your current 1.5i   environment. Only files that already exist in this
    enviroment will be updated.

Note: The device family update files can not be used for the intial
installation of a device family. The family must first be installed from
the 1.5i CD, then updated with the Service Pack update file.



Solution 2:

WS Installation:

Download one of the appropriate 1_5i_sp2 data file updates included
on the 1.5i Software Updates Page:

2. Untar the downloaded file into an empty "staging" directory.

    Example:
    cd /home/staging_dir
    gzip -d 15i_sp2_4kxla_data.tar.gz
    tar xvf 15i_sp2_4kxla_data.tar

3. Run the install program in the staging directory.

    Example:
    cd home/staging_dir
    ./install

4. You will be prompted for the location of your current 1.5i environment.
     Only files that already exist in this enviroment will be updated.

from the 1.5i CD, then updated with the Service Pack update file.
