NGD2VER 2.1: ERROR: Portability:90 - Command line error: Switch "-u" is not allowed.

Record #6482

Product Family: Software

Product Line: FPGA Implementation

Product Part: ngd2ver

Product Version: 2.1i

Problem Title:
NGD2VER 2.1: ERROR: Portability:90 - Command line error: Switch "-u" is not allowed.

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

When specifying the "-u" option in NGD2VER, the following error is
reported:

ERROR: Portability:90 - Command line error: Switch "-u" is not allowed.

Solution 1:

The "-u" was removed as an option in NGD2VER as of Alliance 1.5.19.
The closest option is the -ne option (Do not escape names) which will
replace all invalid Verilog characters (including "/")	with the underscore
("_") and not to escape the name with the backslash. For example,

without -ne:
        wire \d_in3/INBLOCK/I ;

with -ne:
        wire d_in3_INBLOCK_I;

The "-u" option used "_" as the pathdelimiter instead of "/". This behavior
was very similar to "-ne", and thus the option was removed.
