Virtex: Are Virtex devices Hot-Swap Compliant?
Record #6768
Product Family: Hardware Virtex: Are Virtex devices Hot-Swap Compliant? Problem Description: Urgency: Standard General Description: Are Virtex devices hot-swap compliant? If so, what are some of the detailsthat allow them to be hot-swappable? Solution 1: There are no power sequencing issues (Vcco, Vccint, I/Os can be powered-up in any order). However, I/Os can't be powered up to 5V in an otherwise unpowered device for more than 2% of the device's lifetime. Also see (Xilinx Solution 5133). As shown in table 8 on page 3-15 of the Virtex data sheet, the existence of internal pull-up resistors before and during configuration is an option, selected by the appropriate levels on the three Mode pins. When the "no pre-configuration pull-up" option is chosen, there is less than 10uA leakage on I/Os during power-up, regardless of supply sequence, and also less than 10uA leakage on I/Os during configuration (except for the INIT pin, which always has a weak internal pull-up attached to it) End of Record #6768 - Last Modified: 09/16/99 11:39 |
