The MathWorks and Xilinx have entered a strategic exclusive partnership that includes
joint development and marketing. The first tool to be released through the partnership
is Xilinx System Generatorç) for Simulink(R). |
The Result: Faster Time-To-Market
|
For several years, Xilinx has provided pre-designed DSP cores, LogiCOREs, to aid
customers implementing DSP design on Xilinx FPGAs. Used with Xilinx CORE Generator,
LogiCORE modules significantly shorten the FPGA HW design phase.
By using Xilinx System Generator for The MathWorks Simulink, designers can further
reduce the development time by quickly iterating between a system representation
and a hardware representation of their designs. This is especially important for
DSP applications, as many system-level design tradeoffs are based upon the results
of the hardware implementation. |

In addition to shorter design time, the new System Generator allows designers who
are new to FPGAs to use familiar tools from The MathWorks along with the Xilinx tools
to adopt FPGA technology for DSP applications. |
