    How to install and run Leonardo Spectrum on a PC   
       
    You will need a dongle along with a valid license file which is locked to the
    dongle,   
    or if you are on an internal network you can point to the license server. You can
    contact   
    Exemplar to get a license file at (510) 789-3399 or email Exemplar: license@exemplar.com   
    Here is an example of setting the license to point to the port@server_name:   
    LM_LICENSE_FILE=1700@snapon   
    To install Leonardo Spectrum 1999.1:   
    1. Go to the Exemplar
    ftp site and download the latest software. It is a self extracting executable.   
    2. Click on install.exe (~20M) file to download the released software.   
    3. Next screen will automatically download software into the previously designated
    folder.   
    4. When downloading is finished switch over to your designated saved folder area and
    double click on the install.exe file.   
        Proceed with the install.   
    5. If you are running an NT machine with a dongle, you need to download and install
    Sentinel.exe file as well.   
    6. Documentation is located at doc.exe (3M)   
    7. To run Leonardo Spectrum you can do one of the following:   
      - From Win95 of WinNT: Start-->Programs-->Leonardo Spectrum V1999.1-->Leonardo
        Spectrum
 
      - Double-click on the Leonardo Spectrum Icon on your Windows Desktop.

    How to install and run Leonardo Spectrum on a UNIX workstation running
    Solaris 2.5.1 and 2.6   
    To Install LeonardoSpectrum v1999.1 on Solaris 2.5.1 and 2.6

    For a local install do the following:    
    1. Create a directory to download Leonardo Spectrum tar files.   
       Example:   
         mkdir $HOME/download   
    2. Download the following files:   
         sunos5.tar.gz(~25Mb) - Core executable, libraries, and
    documentation   
       Example (using ftp):   
         binary   
         hash   
         get sunos5.tar.gz   
     
    The files for a Solaris machine can be downloaded from here  
    3. Uncompress the tar files:   
       Example:   
         gunzip sunos5.tar.gz   
    4. Untar the files into desired installation directory:   
       Example:   
         cd <installation directory>   
         tar xvf $HOME/download/sunos5.tar   
    NOTE:  Leonardo Spectrum will work with existing Galileo and Leonardo   
                 licenses. To
    request an evaluation license, visit our Web site at:   
                
    http://www.exemplar.com

    5. Set the EXEMPLAR environment variable to point to the top directory of the Spectrum
    Install:   
        setenv EXEMPLAR /home/zeppelin/spectrum1999.1   
    6. Set the LM_LICENSE_FILE to point to the Exemplar license.dat   
        setenv LM_LICENSE_FILE /products/exemplar/license.dat   
        OR put the license.dat in the default location at:
    $EXEMPLAR/license/   
    7. To run the Leonardo Spectrum GUI type the following:   
        leonardo &   
    The Leonardo Spectrum GUI should come up.

    How to install and run Leonardo Spectrum on a UNIX workstation running
    HP-UX 10.2   
    Please note:

    The following patches are required on HP-UX 10.20 operating system to allow   
    LeonardoSpectrum to run appropriately. The patches are available on HP's WEB   
    site at:   
        http://us-support.external.hp.com   
        http://europe-support.external.hp.com   
    1. PHKL_8693   - s700 10.20 sys/time.h fix for select(2)/C++ defects   
    2. PHKL_8694   - s800 10.20 sys/time.h fix for select(2)/C++ defects   
    3. PHSS_14262  - b.10.00.00.AA HP a C++ runtime library components   
                    
    (A.01.12)   
    4. PHSS_14943  - s700_800 10.20 Xserver cumulative patch.   
    5. PHSS_15043  - B.10.00.00.AA HP a C++ runtime library components

    6. Leonardo Spectrum will work with existing Galileo and Leonardo

    After these required patches are applied, you can run Leonardo Spectrum.   
    To Install LeonardoSpectrum v1999.1 on HP-UX10.20
