ManufacturingLan connectivity over a T1 WAN on the corporate campus

Situation

The days of consolidated corporate facilities are long gone. Real estate in urban areas is at a premium, and in the majority of cases corporations generally don't exist in one building. Rather, companies looking to do business in one geographic area are often forced to locate different business disciplines at varying sites.

Problem

Many manufacturing organizations need to link distribution centers, and satellite sales offices with corporate headquarters. The problem is that these separate LAN sites, dispersed throughout a campus area network have no existing cabling between sites.

Solution

When LAN sites are distributed within a metropolitan center, or where there is no cabling available between the sites, manufacturing organizations can lease copper pairs from the local carrier for LAN connectivity using the Campus-REX. Campus-REX provides transparent LAN access over the local loop and a T1 framing option that allows direct connection to the T1 network via a DSX-1 interface.

In this scenario, both ends of the local loop are terminated with the Campus-REX for direct connection of two or more LANs. This application simplifies access to the public high-speed WANs over geographically distributed sites.
