Xilinx: A Tradition of Sharing 

Through its corporate giving program, the company establishes an annual budget to support meaningful activities such as education, health, welfare and the arts. 

In San Jose, California, for example, where the company is headquartered, Xilinx has been a long-time financial backer of the Santa Clara Children's Shelter, which provides a safe haven for abused, neglected and abandoned children. Xilinx has also been a major corporate sponsor of the Santa Clara Walk for AIDS and the San Jose Symphony for several years. 

In Boulder, Colorado, where development of the company's software tools takes place, Xilinx supports the Boulder County Safehouse, a non-profit organization that provides counseling and emergency shelter for battered women and children. Boulder Valley Schools also receive financial support from Xilinx for the Tech 21 program to augment technology assisted learning for students throughout the school district. 

And at the company's European headquarters outside London, Xilinx supports a number of charities that help less fortunate children as well as the blind and disabled. This civic responsibility also extends to dozens of smaller Xilinx sales offices located throughout the United States, Europe, Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. 

As a company, however, Xilinx believes that personal involvement in the community is as important as direct financial support and encourages its employees to play an active role in community activities. Employees distinguish themselves in a number of ways, from using vacation time to build housing for the poor to giving up their lunch hour to read to children at local schools. And Xilinx helps employees increase the value of their own donations to charitable organizations through a matching grant program. In all these ways, the people at Xilinx are committed to being responsible neighbors and making their communities better places to live.
