Increasing FPGA DSP Design Starts
Notes:
The market forces that demand performance and flexibility are starting
to prevail. We are seeing a large increase in new design starts using FPGAs
for digital signal processing.
An independent survey taken by Forward Concepts in 1997, DSP engineers
responded that they planned to use FPGAs as often as they planned to use
custom ICs and one third as often as fixed point DSP processors.
We are going to show you how dramatically the dynamics of programmable
logic is changing in a way that will dramatically boost the effectiveness
of FPGAs in DSP applications.
First lets look at FPGA architectures and how DSP related features
have been added.
