Here is an existing example of a fully programmable satellite modem. With 4 million programmable gates and the performance of 100 million programmable MACs this board is capable of implementing all of the the current products that this company has in production today. These existing designs can be modified and enhanced to rapidly deploy new products.

Two lower performance DSP processors support the FPGAs. One is used to run legacy DSP code and the second is used by the FPGAs as a peripheral processor for low speed algorithms that can easily implemented on a sequential machine.
