The PSpice for TI solution can identify the state of the reference design and the corresponding TI libraries configured in this design. Based on the current state of the reference design and the configured TI libraries added to this design, PSpice for TI detects the following cases at the time of opening the design and notifies the user. Depending on the case, the tool performs the backup of the original libraries in the folder, libbackup
and updates these libraries with TI libraries from the PSpice for TI installation.
Simulating Original TI Reference Design Downloaded from TI
To ensure you are using the latest TI libraries installed with PSpice for TI, the tool does the following:
- Detects the state of configured libraries added to design.
- If these libraries are old, then these are backed up in the project directory, in the folder,
libbackup
and get updated with the latest TI libraries from PSpice for TI installation.
You are notified about these changes and the library updates in the Session Log.
Using TI Libraries from an External Location
If PSpice for TI detects that the libraries configured in the reference design are from an external location, the tool notifies you that the configured libraries are located outside of the design hierarchy and the PSpice for TI installation, and cannot be updated. All such library details are captured and shown in the Session Log.
In this case, to use the latest libraries from the PSpice for TI installation, create a backup of these external libraries and remove them from the configured library list of the reference design.
Updating Libraries
This is the case when the integrity of installed PSpice for TI libraries is compromised.
Simulating Original TI Reference Design Downloaded from TI: Integrity Check Failed
If the integrity check for installed PSpice for TI libraries fails, then the tool does the following:
- Detects the integrity failure and but does not automatically update the original TI libraries that are already added to the design.
- Tool notifies you about this failure and captures the details in the Session Log.
To fix this problem and restore the integrity of the PSpice for TI installed libraries, install the PSpice for TI libraries again using Help – Reinstall TI Models and Libraries. For details, see Updating TI Library and PSpice for TI Software.
