Had a brief discussion with Jon & Kevin on following points:
* Jon is planning to organize a face2face meeting during the DVCon during the last week of Feb. If its at the conference venue, it still will not require any registration to attend this meeting. Also dialin numbers will be set up for people wanting to participate through phone. Jon will send across the details during the course of next week.
* LRM2.1 has been sent to the board and all the TCC chairs. An official decision on that version will be made by the end of the month.
The following points is planned to be discussed during the face-2-face meeting
- The debate on Verilog2001 vs SystemVerilog for the digital standard. Currently the digital standard refers to 1364-1995 and this will be changed. Accellera's intention is for the Verilog-AMS standards to be alligned with the SystemVerilog effort. This would require some input and participation from other committees dealing with the digital std.
- When should we donate this LRM to the IEEE. There is two schools of thought, one of them being we should donate it as is and start doing the cleaning up the open BNF issues, ambiguities under the IEEE banner. The other one is we should further cleanup some of the simpler ones and resolve some of the BNF issues and donate the LRM to IEEE towards the later half of the year and then maybe work under IEEE to further enhancing the language before it becomes a official std.
- Verilog-RF. There is lot of interest being shown by the various companies to invest effort into extending the VerilogA capabilities to address RF. Plan to discuss further on this, as this seems to be a critical need for the industry which the language committee needs to address. Also there might be sufficient people keen to work on this effort now.
- Device Modeling extensions to the VerilogA language. This has been in the plans for the Accellera committee to do this as extension to the VerilogA.
The next call is at the time being scheduled for the face-2-face meeting in SanJose end of this month.
cheers,
Sri
