Hi all,

The main reason for not fixing some of the more obvious issues like fdisplay, fstrobe, as geoffrey has pointed out was that, this was planned for LRM2.3 where we would have merged with 1364-2001/2005 standards. Infact most of this was done/being done as part of the draft LRM that graham had already invested the effort on. Hence. at that time, i didnt think it was an high priority issue that needed to be addressed as part of 2.2 since we were parallely working on 2.3 which was going to come out later in the year.

Ofcourse, on hindsight, i would have put some of these on LRM2.2 itself, if i had known that we would not be doing 2.3/3.0 versions.

cheers,
Sri

Jonathan -
I hadn't noticed the omission of MODE for opening a file.
The AMS LRM is somewhat vague about what mode is used:
you get an error if the file can't be opened for writing,
so I guess that means the mode in AMS is "w" (not "a") --
but this should be noted explicitly.

I had noticed the omission of $fwrite, etc. while I was
doing LRM 2.2, but thought that these would get added to
LRM 2.3 when aligning with 1364-2001.  (And this wasn't
a compact modeling issue, so it wasn't mine to fix.)
