Subject: Introducing the SLDS Semantics Group

Hi, I'm writing to you because you are listed as a member of the
alctsc@eda.org mailing list.

As you are certainly aware, the ALC group is merging with the SLDL
group under Accellera. As a result of the reorganization, a new
committee has been created called System Level Design Standard
(SLDS). This committee is composed of three working groups (WG): the
C WG, the Rosetta WG and the Semantics WG. The Semantics Working
Group corresponds to the Architecture group under the ALC, the one
that is developing the Semantics Reference Manual (SRM). I have been
asked to, and have accepted to, chair the Semantics Working Group.
Note also that the Semantics Working Group has a "sister" research
group co-chaired by Prof. Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli and by
Prof. Edward Lee, both of the University of California at Berkeley.

I am now in the process of organizing this group. To that end I
would like to get a better sense of who would be interested in
participating as

1. Active member (actively contributing to the definition of the
  documents)
2. Participating member (taking part to the meetings and
  discussions)
3. Observing member (only part of the mailing list, not usually
  participating in meetings)
4. Not a member (to be removed from the mailing list)

Please consider the level of participation that you would like to
take in this group and let me know of your decision. Also, if you
know of someone who might be interested in contributing to the SRM,
please do forward this message to him/her. Information on the ALC
and the SRM can be found at this web site: http://www.eda.org/arch.
Note however that I'm planning to reconsider, with the contribution
of all members, both the charter and the deliverables of this group.

I'm looking forward for you response. Best regards,

       Roberto Passerone.
