Products/Services

The Xilinx Cadence Alliance Series solution includes products and services provided by both Cadence and Xilinx.

Front-end design entry tools such as the Concept schematic editor and the Synergy HDL synthesizer are offered by Cadence. The interface netlister (i.e. concept2xil) is available from Cadence and can be downloaded from Cadence's FTP site:

Xilinx provides the Unified Concept and Verilog libraries necessary for schematic entry and Verilog simulation. To complete the FPGA/CPLD design flow, designers would need the Alliance Series solution for design implementation, i.e. to place and route design.

The main services provided in the Xilinx Cadence Alliance Series include technical and customer support from both companies. Cadence is responsible for the front-end design entry portion while Xilinx provides assistance with the the interface and device implementation phases of a FPGA/CPLD design flow.

Benefits of Xilinx Cadence Alliance Series

  • Industry standard interface netlisting - EDIF 2 0 0
  • Functional and timing simulation in Verilog
  • LogiBLOX integration
  • Board-level simulation support from xil2cds (available in Alliance Series 1.4)
See the "Technical Information" section for further Alliance Series 1.4 features for Cadence.
