GEC Plessey Telecommunications: one of the largest accounts in the
U.K. is a high volume user of FPGAs and ASICs with large production runs.
Customer historically has used Altera devices due to Altera's software
offering. The customer was always interested in Xilinx silicon but software
was an issue. Xilinx U.K. offered the customer a complete VHDL design solution
including Exemplar tools. The design was completed on time and met the
requirements. Customer purchased about 5000 units of XC4KE and 5200 devices. |
