- "We were having problems with our other
synthesis tool. We synthesized everything with
Synplify, and the first time we were able to
download into the FPGA and have the chip work as
we expected it would. The thing I really liked
about the Synplify synthesizer was that I didn't
have to understand everything about the Xilinx
chip to get full functionality. It understood how
to use the global clocks and it used them
automatically on the proper signals, it knew how
to use the GSR, and the really neat thing was
that when it synthesized, it synthesized directly
into Xilinx CLBs. The old synthesizer I had been
using synthesized into generic logic gates, then
remapped into Xilinx CLBs, and as such didn't use
the Xilinx architecture efficiently at all. This
wasn't the case with the Synplify synthesizer, it
