Feel free to write whatever you want in SV. But don't force me to
rewrite the millions of lines of code that we already have. For those,
SV still requires a way to connect to "legacy" C code. C libraries have
been used as the backplane of tool interoperability for more decades
than I can remember.
However, I do think you make a very good point: everything we say PLI
needs, should also be doable in SV in a native form. There is no reason
that the PLI should have more features than SV itself.
