Hello all,
I had sent out an email to Doug to start working on a proposal
on (c) with the understanding that there was already a consensus
on this issue from the email exchanges that I saw on this.
Since then Doug has requested me to make a formal poll on this
and many people have already replied to Michael's email on
this endorsing (c). We would go ahead and make this a formal
poll. Please send in your opinion on this by Monday
(12/02) 5 PM Pacific (to give me enough time to count the result
and announce it on 3rd).
I also request members not to start a poll by themselves, this
way it will be impossible for me or my co-chair to keep track
of the polls or their results. Please let me know and if I get
enough requests asking an issue to be polled, I will organize
one.
Here are the members eligible for sending their comments on
ISSUE 1.7, based on their attendance. You do not need to
reply if you have already sent your choice.
Francoise Martinole
Stuart Swan
John Amouroux
John Stickley
Doug Warmke
Michael Rohleder
Kevin Cameron

Regards,
- Swapnajit.
Hi all,
This is just a trial for a short email poll. I have the feeling, this is
something we can close easily.
According to Doug there are three options:
a) Use system currently in place in DirectC. (Andrzej recommends).
b) All access is done through API functions. Different #define or -D
could be used to specify an optimization level. (Michael
recommends).
c) Use combination of direct and abstract modes, but with no redundancy.
(Doug recommends)
I see some motion towards option c), which means We Remove "A" | "C".
Is there any agreement/disagreement on this? This might save us some
minutes in the next call, hopefully ... Please note that this
is fully separated from the context discussion.
-Michael
