Swapnajit,
yes, that is what I understand:
sv-ec proposed that the type "string datatype"
(sv 3.1 LRM, draft 2, section 3.7, page 21 in the pdf file)
that has been added to sv 3.1 satisfies all our (sv-cc) requirements.
Note that this type is actually a class, rather than a "simple" type; however
it does meet all our requirements (and more). The proposal is to use this
type rather than the "string" type proposed in the original DirectC documents.
So the next step is for us to confirm to sv-ec that their string datatype
proposal is OK.
Joao

Joao,
Sorry for asking this again, but wanted to make sure that I understood
this correctly. Do we need to just agree that we accept string as a
class rather than a type in our definition ? If so, can you send this
(or the correct proposal on this) to the reflector so that we can take
a poll on this and be done with it? After that you need to co-ordinate
with Andrzej to make necessary changes in the documentation.
Regards,
- Swapnajit.
