model
Francoise,
To create a vector-graphic version of a diagram to include in the FrameMaker
document, I do the following:
- use Rose to print the diagram as a PDF file using the Acrobat Distiller
printer driver
- use Adobe Illustrator to open the PDF, remove the page footer, and save as
EPS (with TIFF
black & white preview)
- in FrameMaker, import the EPS file. The preview appears very pixelated,
but when you save the doc
and PDF, the vector representation in the EPS is sent to a printer.
Cheers,
PA

During this discussion, two questions came up regarding: a) the appearance and printing of the diagrams b) the free distribution by vendors of their header files and models. For a), I was asked to find out how you create scaled vector graphics for publications of the UML diagrams. For b), The question was since the IEEE owns the standard LRM along with the UML model, the html browser and the header files, is it legal for a vendor or a third party to ship their own UML diagrams, header files etc... Note that today many vendors already ship their vhpi_user.h and vpi_user.h files. FrancoiseReceived on Wed Oct 20 17:54:48 2004
