1. Reviewed Patent information.
- Charles Dawson reviewed the patent information.
2. Reviewed minutes of the 01/26/2005 Meeting.
- Minutes say we reviewed minutes from 1/5 and they were actually from 1/19.
- Generates minutes need clarification:
- Item 313 PTF 296: Generate stmts will need change made in VPI
- Chas made a new proposal: 313-3.[fm|pdf]
- This proposal has a 1 to 1 transition from gen scope array
to the gen var used in the for gen loop
- Friendly amendment to memory to reg array and add a vpiMemory label.
JimV/Francoise. PASSED as amended (unanimous)
- Chas uploaded 313-4.[fm|pdf] to reflect friendly amendment
- Ralph/JimV. ACCEPTED as amended.
3. Liaisons
- Francoise reported on the BC committee's work on constructors. It
no longer looks like a concatenation. Our current model
uses the concatenation expression to model them. Francoise thinks that
we should create a new operator. Currently no way to decompile
to original code, no default, type or index key. We return the
fully exploded constructor. BC voted today, will go through the
champions then working group. Regardless of the syntax, Francoise
doesn't think our current definition is correct. JimV commented that
we don't always allow for a decompile to the original syntax.
Francoise will file a new SV-CC item to track the issue. Perhaps two:
- one to address the syntax change that happened in SV-BC.
- one to deal with the weakness in the data model.
- EC committee also has some impact from the BC work. They will have to
look at this too.
- No other meetings to report on.
4. New business
- Item 366
- Ralph's proposal is to add back information which was deleted un-intentionally
when we redid Item 50.
- Friendly amendment to specify that the remaining bits "shall be left unchanged."
- Ralph/Doug. PASSED as amended (unanimous).
- Doug will upload a PDF/HTML version today.
- Discussed Shalom's issues.
- Committee was okay with his changes to the vpi_user.h file.
- Committee discussed the memory issue on the scope diagram in Item 313.
This is covered by another issue, so should not be reflected here.
- Committee discussed putting the generates diagram at the end of section 26.
Chas had told Shalom that that would be okay. Committee okay with it too.
- Stu had some editing questions:
- Stu wanted to reorder the diagrams into a more logical order.
Only issue would be references in the current open Items. Not that many
left. Sections need to be renumbered for the ballot draft anyway.
Stu/Michael move to allow Stu to reorder the section into a logical order.
ACCEPTED (unanimous).
- Due to DVCon in 2 weeks, the committee chose to cancel the 02/16/2005 meeting.
Meeting ended at 1:15PM EST.
