Reviewed Patent information. - Chas reviewed the patent information. 2. Reviewed minutes of the 04/12/2006 Meeting. Ralph/JimV. ACCEPTED 3. Liaisons - Francoise reported on PASSED SV-BC items SV-BC is trying to organize which Items they intend to work on. Francoise sent out a few which are likely to be of interest to SV-CC and therefore need to be monitored. - No one reported on other meetings 4. New business - ITC issue Need more info from Brian. Amit talked more about ITC (interfaces technical committee under Accellera). The issue whether export tasks/functions can be called from non import tasks or functions. The ITC wants to allow invocation of DPI export tasks/functions from SystemC contexts. Was there any thought about this when DPI was written? The committee is of the opinion that the intent was that invoking export DPI tasks and functions would only be from context import tasks/functions. If there can be a different interpretation, then the text should be analyzed. DPI was chosen to work with C as an interface language, as choosing C++ as the interface language would open would be an additional complication. Francoise thinks there is an ambiguity and do we really need the restriction? Steve thinks we need to resolve the ambiguity first. Ralph doesn't know of a place where something else could set scope. See F.5.5. Amit will put together a set of excerpts of related text from the LRM and then we can discuss it. Another interesting section 26.4.3. John Stickley was involved in this originally. We should get his input on it. What we are dealing with is an interpretation request, and need to divorce what the intent was from what it actually says now. - Francoise sent emails about some new issues yesterday. Item 1434 Which kind of fork join is not available in VPI (27.9) Several others for which Francoise will add proposals. 5. Reviewed of items with proposals. - Item 1403 vpiAutomatic names both a property and a relation Friendly amendment to vpiAutomaticVars to vpiAutomatics. Abi/JimV. PASSED (unanimous) as amended. (JimV will update the proposal) 6. Review SV-CC items with proposals (Straw poll only): - Item 1431 Type 'chandle' was overlooked in sv_vpi_user.h This is a duplicate of 1426. Move to declare 1426 a duplicate of 1431. Francoise/Steve. PASSED (unanimous) JimV thinks we should allow the editor to choose the appropriate next set of numbers. Chas will put together a proposal with the actual diagrams changes, then we can vote next time. Motion to adjourn. 1:03pm. Steve/JimV. PASSED (unanimous) 7. Old Business 8. Action items - JimV to look into other things which can have size changes as discussed in 0985. - Chas to send everyone the frame docs for the diagrams. - Chuck to write a document that describes the possible solutions for the compatibility issues, and they're pros and cons. - Amit to gather relevant sections of LRM for the ITC issue. - Ralph to get input from John Stickley on ITC issue. 9. Items for consideration at the next meeting (they already have proposals): - Item 1431 Type 'chandle' was overlooked in sv_vpi_user.h 10. Next meeting The next SV-CC meeting will be on 04/26/2006.
