Reviewed Patent information. - Chas reviewed the patent information. 2. Reviewed minutes of the 10/11/2006 Meeting. - Chuck/JimV. ACCEPTED (unanimous) 3. Liaisons - Talk on face-to-face: - Chas thanked all those who participated. - Francoise thought it was very successful. Would like to have another one. - Chas thinks that these kinds of meeting are much more effective. Chuck agrees. - Chas pointed out that the colors were lost in the PDF containing the meeting notes. Ghassan suggested underlining the action items. - Ghassan thinks we should have issue drivers that take on problems. Chas agreed. The issue drivers should be those who took actions for each topic in the face-to-face meeting. No one objected to this suggestion. - Francoise reported that there was one thing in SV-EC. They are having a face-to-face to discuss program blocks and clocking blocks. There are lots of issues with them, and they may impact SV-CC. Francoise will be going, and will report back. - There is a champions meeting coming up on Thursday. Chas still needs to update mantis. 4. New business - Do we know who did bids for editor? Peter did UML model for VHPI. Would be good to have him do that for VPI. - Chas asked how we should deal with the outstanding mantis items. Francoise talked about taking on the more difficult things and ignoring the easy ones. She doesn't want to defocus our efforts. JimV thinks the hard things should be tackled first, Abi agrees too. Chas will produce a list of mantis items that are related to the major topics we discussed at the face-to-face. - Michael's proposal for compatibility issue. Chas will schedule some time to talk about it at the next meeting. 5. Reviewed of items with proposals. - None. 6. Reviewed SV-CC items with proposals (Straw poll only). - Item 0985 Francoise asked if mailboxes might need to be on the list. We also have things like lists, which can be integers, strings, or class objects (see annex D). The main question is how do we represent built in classes? In annex C mailboxes have a class definition. We might want to represent them as class defns, and add a vpiBuiltIn property, or something like that. Does this really have anything to do with 0985? Francoise was wondering, if it made sense to provide the number of elements in a linked list, or the number of messages in a mailbox... .etc. JimV will take another look at this. 27.22 note 'b' tells how to get to messages in a mailbox. Abi and Francoise thinks we should treat built in classes as just regular classes. JimV/Chuck. PASSED (unanimous) JimV/Chuck. Meeting ended at 12:55pm. 7. Old Business 8. Action items - Chuck to write a document that describes the possible solutions for the compatibility issues, and they're pros and cons. - Francoise and Bassam to continue work on assignment patterns. - Everyone to review Chas' merged diagrams document. - JimV to champion the slices problem. - Chuck to champion the vpiParent problem. - Chuck to consider adding two properties for dimension processing. - Francoise to champion adding support for typed parameters to the typespec diagrams. - Abi to champion adding support for parameterized classes. - Abi to champion improving the ability to compare objects. - Steve Dovich to determine best way to deal with issues between versions of the IEEE specs. 9. Items for consideration at the next meeting (they already have proposals): - None. 10. Next meeting The next SV-CC meeting will be on 11/08/2006. The next P1800 meeting will be on 11/09/2006. -- Charles Dawson Senior Engineering Manager NC-Verilog Team Cadence Design Systems, Inc. 270 Billerica Road Chelmsford, MA 01824 (978) 262 - 6273 chas@cadence.comReceived on Wed Oct 25 14:15:44 2006
