1. Reviewed Patent information.

   - Chas reviewed the patent information.

2. Reviewed minutes of the 12/06/2006 Meeting.
Abi did not receive the minutes or the agenda. More problems with the
reflector? Chas will look at the bounced messages.
Chas commented that Ralph's description on the rand stuff was better than
our meeting minutes (email sent on 12/13). Discussed whether or not to
include them. Decided to just refer to them here.
   - Chuck/Ralph. ACCEPTED (unanimous)

3. Liaisons

   - Chas asked if anyone had an objection to moving to the alternate Wednesdays
so as to not conflict with SV-XC. No one objected. Chas will do so if the
     SV-XC cannot move their meeting.
   - Francoise talked about having a face-to-face at DVCon. 21-23rd of Feb.
   - Francoise reported that the SV-EC is discussing an Updated Event Scheduling
     Proposal.

4. New business

   - DPI and "rand" qualifiers

Ralph is going to slog through the grammar. Ralph sees no problem to providing
the relief that was requested. Should not cause problems nor be noticeable
by the end user anyway. Goal is to provide a general principle that will help
deal with things that we haven't already thought of yet. Andrzej thinks that
we need to either specify the C declaration or assume that things that are not
specified cannot exist on the C side. Any kind of control bits do not get
passed going from C to HDL.

   - SV-EC's Updated Event Scheduling Proposal

SV-EC is going to be adding some new regions for program blocks. This will
allow people to use non-blocking assignments in the program blocks. Since VPI
has callbacks around the non-blocking assignments in the active loop, we would
need to add similar callbacks to the reactive loop. It should be noted that
this going to cause backward compatibility issues. Chas forwarded Francoise's
message about the proposal. Should not cause changes of the data model, but
will cause changes to callbacks and to put values with delays.

5. Reviewed items with proposals.

   - Item 1684 vpiParent clarification needed for complex var/net objects

Does this explain clearly how to deal with a slice as an argument to a
systf? It would be good to clearly state that. Maybe we can create a
general statement to that effect. Maybe we need to pass the packed array
item first so we can refer to it in this one. Jim pointed out that we
have a left-to-right or right-to-left problem which needs to be fixed.
Decided to postpone decision on this until after the resolution of the
packed array proposal that Chuck is working on.

JimV/Chuck. Meeting ended at 1:02pm.

6. Reviewed SV-CC items with proposals (Straw poll only).

7. Old Business

8. Action items

   - Ongoing review of Michael and Abi's compatibility proposal.
   - Francoise and Bassam to continue work on assignment patterns.
   - Francoise to champion adding support for typed parameters to the
     typespec diagrams.
   - Abi to champion adding support for parameterized classes.
   - Abi/JimV to champion improving the ability to compare objects.
   - Steve Dovich to determine best way to deal with issues between versions
     of the IEEE specs.
   - Ralph to review the BNF for areas related to "rand".
   - Chas to reconcile the meeting schedule between SV-CC and SV-XC.

9. Items for consideration at the next meeting (they already have proposals):

   - Item 1614 P1800-2005: 27.52 no expr for disable fork objects
   - Item 1631 P1800-2005 27.14 note k has an error
   - Item 1664 IEEE 1800-2005 27.7 Note 'e': First sentence should be rewritten
   - Item 1669 P1800-2005 Sections 27.34 and 27.36 commas are inconsistent
   - Item 1632 P1800-2005 sections 27.14 note k and 27.22 note f are incompatible
   - Item 1684 vpiParent clarification needed for complex var/net objects

10. Next meeting
The next SV-CC meeting will be on 01/03/2007.
The next P1800 meeting will be on 01/04/2007.
