RE: [sv-cc] Meeting minutes for 02/14/2007

From: Jim Vellenga <vellenga_at_.....>

Chas,

The date should be 02/14/2007 rather than 01/14/2007.

I believe that it was Charles rather than Jim that
reviewed the patent information.

Regards,
Jim

]1.  Reviewed Patent information.
]
] - Jim reviewed the patent information.
]
]3. Reviewed minutes of the 01/31/2007 Meeting.
]
]     - Chuck/Ralph.  ACCEPTED (unanimous)
]
]
]3.  Liaisons
]
] - Chas commented on the Clean Scheduling Proposal
] Jim commented that we should frame our text on callbacks
] in terms of the scheduling semantics in their proposal.
] - No other meetings to report on
]
]
]4.  New business
]
]   - new documents
] Chas to send out the passwords to the people working on
] the committee. There were no objections to having people
] review their acknowledged items now. All to do so.
]
]   - Clean Scheduling Proposal (Item 890?)
] Michael wonders if we should have a PLI "pre-observed"
] region. Need a slot where we know the design has
] settled. Michael would be okay to have it a read only
] region. A place in time where there is no active events
] in the design but before the testbench and assertions
] fire. There was a question as to whether or not we could
] schedule events in future time slices. Chas thought that
] there were no restrictions on scheduling things in future
] time slices. There were no objections to Michael's proposal.
] Michael to write up the proposal as the feedback from
]     the SV-CC committee.
]
] - VPI handles for classes (dynamic objects)
] We need a way for when design scanning objects encounter
] inactive objects in a static scope, we need a way to refer
] to them (a decompilation test). Also need to consider the
] implications of vpiFullName and vpi_handle_by_name() for
] these kinds of objects. Chuck would like to get more feedback
] from the committee members off line, as this will likely take
] several meeting to resolve. The full name is the object at the
]     current time.
]
]   - Steve's action item
]
] The question of whether or not we are allowed to refer to the
] Policy should be clarified by the IEEE editor. The full version
] qualified of the standard. "Std 1364-1995" Steve will send
] out the exact text to the reflector. Stu would know how
] to go about doing this. BTW, the Clean Scheduling Proposal has
] a reference in their proposal. Chas to bring up at the P1800
]     meeting next week.
]
] - No more new business.
]
]5.  Reviewed items with proposals.
]
] - Item 1684 vpiParent clarification needed for complex
]var/net objects
] Friendly amendment to change appropriate places where the term
] "will" is used to use "shall" instead. JimV/Abi. PASSED
] (unanimous) as amended. Chuck to update the proposal.
]
]Motion to adjourn. Chuck/Abi. Meeting ended at 1:02pm.
]
]6. Reviewed SV-CC items with proposals (Straw poll only).
]
]7.  Old Business
]
]8.  Action items
]
] - Ongoing review of Michael and Abi's compatibility proposal.
] - Francoise and Bassam to continue work on assignment patterns.
] - Francoise to champion adding support for typed parameters to the
]     typespec diagrams.
] - Abi to champion adding support for parameterized classes.
] - Abi/JimV to champion improving the ability to compare objects.
] - Steve Dovich to determine best way to deal with issues between
] versions of the IEEE specs.
]   - SV-CC to review proposal for Item 0890.
] - Michael to compose response to the Clean Scheduling Proposal.
] - All to verify their Acknowledged Mantis Items.
] - Steve to send out exact text on referring to a prior version.
]
]9. Items for consideration at the next meeting (they already have
]proposals):
]
] - Item 1716 Clarify handling of DPI formals/actuals with
]rand/randc qualifier
]
]10. Next meeting
] The next SV-CC meeting will be on 02/28/2007.
] The next P1800 meeting will be on 02/20/2007.
