1. Reviewed Patent information

   - Ghassan reviewed the patent information which can be found at
http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/pat-slideset.ppt

2. Reviewed minutes of the 06/20/2007 Meeting
     - Ralph/Chuck. ACCEPTED (unanimous)

3. Liaisons

   - Jim attended the P1800 WG technical meeting and reported that most
discussion was about schedule and milestones. August 1st is the major
upcoming milestone for any new update to current draft 3a. This will be
followed by the final date of November 15 for any changes or mantis
items to make the 2008 target standard. There was no outstanding issue
for SV-CC that are being tracked by Karen P.

   - No new update from Francoise from other committees.

4. New business

   - Item 1865 Definition of `s_vpi_vecval' in `svdpi.h' and
`vpi_user.h'
Discussion postponed until next meeting since the mantis database
was down and committee members could not review item

   - Chuck to enter a new item on "Deprecated vpiArray property still
appears in several places where vpiArrayMember should replace it."
This is to be discussed in next meeting (item 1942).

   - Ghassan to follow up with Neil and others at eda.org on the issue
of mantis database not being available today.
The server was restarted in PM PDT and an email notification was
sent to all committee reflectors about the database being back on line.

5. Review SV-CC items with proposals:

   - Item 1726 vpiConstantSelect, proposal updated by Jim to include
notes to each section.
Discussion postponed until next meeting since the mantis database
was down and committee members could not review item

   - Item 1385 Passed, Chuck to mark as resolved

   - Item 1837 Wrong outline for net in VPI generate diagram
     Charles has updated this item.
Request for members to review and validate based on Charles fix.

   - Item 1599 Update on request to SV-AC to move this item to SV-CC
once that committee is done with it. Charles took the AI to send the
request.
Need an update from Charles on this item.

6. Review SV-CC items with proposals (Straw poll only):

   - Others?

7. Review old business: Updates Under Each Item Discussed

   - Francoise and Bassam to continue work on assignment patterns.
   - Francoise to champion adding support for typed parameters to the
     typespec diagrams.
   - Abi to champion adding support for parameterized classes.
   - Abi/JimV to champion improving the ability to compare objects.
   - All to verify their Acknowledged Mantis Items.

This is with respect to Stu's work on the LRM update. Item could be
removed as it is expected to be completed for draft 3.

   - Steve to send out exact text on referring to a prior version.
   - Chas to gather a list of all SV-CC approved mantis items which have
not been incorporated into draft 2.

This item is out of date as we are in draft 3a

   - Francoise, with Chuck's help, to put few questions together and
send it to Michael on deprecation of the term memory.

Exchange happened in email between Francoise and Michael. Michael said
that from his users prospective, they are in sync. Jim suggested for
Michael to describe what a memory is from user side. Michael will target
this for end of August.

   - Francoise to inquire from SV-BC on the current thinking regarding
     deprecation of the term memory.

Francoise reported that they are thinking of removing that language from
LRM. However, DPI might need to keep that wording for compatibility.
Michael asked if that changes functionality of readmemh. Response is
that it should continue to work as before. Francoise suggested removing
this item and take action once the SV-BC makes the change.

   - Francoise to ask Stu from user perspective on need for callbacks in
the
     pre and post observed regions.

Stu responded that DPI does not use this kind of functionality

   - Michael to provide user perspective on need for callbacks in the
pre and post observed regions

Discussed the issue of getting such a callback in the standards without
specific usage definition. Jim proposed a simple visibility callback
available to user, although it would be taxing on performance of
simulation. Additional discussion on usability with assertions and
frequency of callback.
Action item is for Michael to describe usability which tool developers
can use to explore implementation

   - Ralph to work on a proposal to solve Stu's DPI issue.

This was closed as part of item 1859

   - All to review xrefs in draft 3.

Done

   - Chas to send a request to SV-BC committee to consider language in
the LRM to require implementations to have a mapping file which will
bind
names to $units objects.

Request was made. Need to follow up with SV-BC on status of this request

   - Chas to take a look for questions from Editor in these sections
and either answer them himself or parcel them out to other
committee members as appropriate.

Ongoing item, current draft is 3a
