Hi All,

1835 remains on my plate, but has an alternate proposal from Jim V. I 
also had an action to contact JEITA and clarify their concern before we 
closed on this item. I found Kasumi Hamaguchi through Karen Pieper to be 
the right contact and we have exchanged some email. He hasn't provided 
any technical feedback, but promised to raise it with his group and get 
back to me. Based on his intentions, they did meet but I have recieved 
no feedback. I gave him some "extra" time, and then asked again for any 
feedback again, including whether it is a minor issue that they don't 
have time to reconsider. I told him we would take final action on the 
issue in July. It has been a week with no reply.

Based on this, I would not wait for a reply. If it comes, we can react. 
I am fine with accepting Jim's proposal. His sensibility about reducing 
the scope of the language change is a good one. Stu, Karen, and Shalom 
did offer opinions earlier as I developed my proposal, but no one else, 
so far, has commented on Jim's alternative.
