Hi Stu, The handle returned from svGetScopeFromName() is not required to work with ACC, VPI, or any other PLI routines. The text you were searching for appears in “35.5.3 Context Tasks and Functions”, in the prelim draft8: Realize also that DPI calls do not automatically create or provide any handles or any special environment that can be needed by those other interfaces. It is the user’s responsibility to create, manage, or otherwise manipulate the required handles or environment(s) needed by the other interfaces. Will the handle returned from svGetScopeFromName() work with the ACC routines, such as for the scope handle argument for acc_handle_by_name()? On a related note, I thought there used to be something in the LRM that specifically stated that VPI handles could not be used with—or at least were not guaranteed to be compatible with—ACC routines. I could not find anything on that topic in the merged LRM, and have not had time to search the 2005 LRMs. Stu ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Stuart Sutherland stuart@sutherland-hdl.com (503) 692-0898 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner <http://www.mailscanner.info/> , and is believed to be clean. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.Received on Thu Feb 12 14:35:55 2009
