General::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Last week's minutes proposed for approval by John and seconded by Joao.

Ghassan discusses the last Chair's meeting.

Operational rules - we need to read them (on the web) and vote on them next
week. This will be a company vote on next Wednesday (8/6).

Discussed how to handle the errata list. Joao is maintaining our )(sv-cc)
list, and will pass changes to David Smith.

Deadline for next donation commitment is 8/6.

Garbage Collection::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

We will also vote on David's change on 8/6, as an individual vote. We need
to wait a week on this because it is a procedural rule.

LRM grammar changes:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Joao discusses the proposal he emailed out.
Francoise wants to eliminate/change the "broadly" reference. Joao agrees.
Andrzej wants us to list what is supported rather than what is not accepted.

Francoise wants to change c) to say something like:

c) arguments to dpi functions cannot be passed by reference, see section
26.4.6 [Joao has taken the wording directly from Francoise in the meeting.]

Once this is cleared up Joao will send it out again and we will vote on it
too (presumably next Wed 8/6).

Open vs. Dynamic Arrays::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Swapnajit asks if we want to send a formal proposal to SV-EC on this. But
the ensuing discussion shows that we still need to understand more.

Andrzej notes that dynamic arrays may be handled differently on the c side
vs. open arrays. Andrzej wants us to eliminate the passing of dynamic
arrays to eliminate any possible confusion. Francoise agrees. But Joao
mentioned that Verilog already defines coercions for this, and this may not
be an issue. Since we are uncertain whether or not we need to add verbage
to the LRM, Andrzej will check on this.

[I'm not too sure if I got all this right, but in any case Andrzej's
follow-up email should clarify things.]

Other 3.1 items:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Swapnajit brings up some past topics, ans asks if they are still valid.

- Doug's C Model [module?] proposal. Doug needs to state if he still wants
us to consider this feature. Joao thinks that this feature may be
problematic.

- Michael's source inclusion.

Michael states that we need to specify how our callbacks work with VPI (like
when are they called). Joao heartily agrees and thinks that this should be
explicitly noted in our documentation. Michael is going to send out his
thoughts as a formal proposal

Closing::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Role call:
Francoise Martinole
John Amouroux
Michael Rohleder
Ralph Duncan
Swapnajit Mittra
Joao Geada
Mike MacNamara
Ghassan Khoory
Andrzej Litwiniuk

We will meet the same time next week, our regular schedule.
