1. Reviewed Patent information.
- Charles Dawson read the patent information.
2. Reviewed minutes of the 12/22/04 Meeting.
- Ralph reported he was there for the 12/16 meeting,
but not the 12/22 meeting.
- Francoise/Ralph. Accepted as amended.
3. Liaisons
- Francoise reported that Item 50 was accepted by the Champions.
- Steve reported that the Encryption committee approved draft 4,
and P1800 accepted as well. We will need to resolve Item 345,
possibly as a re-circulation.
- No other meetings to report on.
4. New business
- Chas brought up the issue from Shalom about the SV-CC PTF items
not being updated in the boyd database.
- After discussion, the committee assigned Chas the task of
updating the P1364 database to Shalom's satisfaction.
- Items 265, 274, 297, and 321
- Bassam responded via email that he did not see the problem
with Issue 265. Nobody else did either. Looks like the ball in Stu's
court. Bassam needs to check with him again.
- Item 264 has been resolved by Doug
- Item 297 turned out to be Item 290, which is an SV-AC problem.
- Item 321 may be an issue. We decided to ask Stu to file a new
SV-CC item, which we will address in the future.
- Item 52
- Sachi added a new proposal. We discussed and decided that all that
was needed was to add a vpiOtherFunc to the sv_vpi_user.h file.
- Sachi will add a new proposal to that effect.
- Doug commented on the DPI include file prototypes.
- Suggested that the prototype cleanups at the end should be removed.
Allows the user to use them, instead of having to re-invent them himself.
Unlike VPI, in DPI this would be a common thing to do.
Doug would like to make a minor proposal to that effect. Committee
decided that he should file a new errata item for this, along with his
proposal.
- Doug commented on Item 201
- Should have put "const" in front of the char *. This will be more
consistent with rest of include file. Doug to file a new mantis item
along with his proposal.
5. Reviewed of items with proposals.
- None.
6. Old Business
SV-CC action items:
- Doug to update proposal for Item 050 as decided on 12/22/2004.
DONE.
PTF action items:
- Stu to write proposal for PTF 368.
DONE as Mantis item 312.
- Chas to write proposal for PTF 296.
DONE as Mantis item 313.
- Draft a straw man proposal using a clean slate with no concern for
existing PLI/VPI on the best way to represent all Verilog and
SystemVerilog kinds and types. This straw man will then be used as a
basis for discussing backward compatibility with the existing reg, net,
variables, functions, and parameter diagrams. It may be decided that
full backward compatibility is not possible, or is not the best approach
moving forward.
Chas thought it would be a good time to start this discussion. He will
bring up as a new business next week. Everyone to think about the
implications of such an idea. Would it help resolve a lot of issues, or
just make a lot of work for implementors and application developers?
Meeting ended at 12:35PM EST.
7. Action items
SV-CC action items:
- Francoise to ask Peter Ashenden what was done to improve
printing from Rational Rose.
- Francoise to inquire about the feasibility of third parties
shipping the UML for the diagrams.
- Sachi to drive finding a better solution for 052.
- JimV to enter a new SV-CC item for adding tables for return values of
the properties.
- Stu to file new SV-CC item that will address bigger issue he pointed
out in Item 321.
- Doug to add an SV-CC item for removing the prototype cleanup from the
DPI include file.
- Doug to add an SV-CC item for adding "const" to prototypes in the
DPI include file where appropriate.
PTF action items:
- Steve to compare BNF with the access available
for attributes to see if they match
- Stu to enter new PTF item for save/restart/reset issue.
- Francoise to lookup wording for PTF 524 in VHPI.
- Francoise will open a new PTF issue to look for situations like 25.6.15,
where multiple methods are used access the same object enclosure
- Chas to reword proposal for PTF 525.
- Sachi will file a PTF item for the clarification of what can be done
at ROsync time and putting values in future times.
- Francoise to file a PTF item that asks to specify the order that iteration
occur in, when the order is important.
- Steve to add ETF item for Annex C to remove the Informative label, but
still allow the contents to be optional.
- Chas to update PTF database for the SV-CC Items to Shalom's satisfaction.
8. Items for consideration at the next meeting (they already have proposals):
