[sv-cc] Draft of the response to the P1800 committee

Hi All,

As you directed at our last meeting, I have composed the following
response to the P1800 committee's request for an opinion on whether
or not we should merge the 1364 and 1800 documents.

RE:   Merging the IEEE 1364 and 1800 documents

On 01/19/2006 the P1800 committee moved to request feedback from the
sub-committees on whether or not the P1800 committee should take on
the task of merging the 1364 and 1800 documents, and if so when should
this work take place.  As per your request, the SV-CC committee met
on 02/01/2006 and here is our response.

The position of the SV-CC committee is to merge the standards
immediately, as long as the duration of the applicable PAR is not
less than 2 years.  Should the duration of the applicable PAR be
less than 2 years, we would have to reconsider our position.

The SV-CC committee would like to thank the P1800 committee for
considering our opinion on this matter.
