All- The latest version of the VPI Compatibility Proposal has been uploaded to Mantis 1385, and is ready for your review. [ I have not attached it here this time, since the last time I tried this it did not get through the reflector. ] It includes the following changes as per our review in the face-to-face meeting 5/1/07: 1) Minor wording and clarifications incorporated (thanks to Charlie); 2) Added 'vpi_control' and 'vpi_register_cb' function to list of mode-affected ones (they potentially deal with design object handles); [ I inspected all functions to see if it was worth including any more, and I believe this is now a complete and reasonably conservative list. ] 3) Section 35.13.2 (mechanism specifics) restructured, clarified, and sub-headers added for the two mechanisms; [ Please review completely, as I think it differs significantly from the original. ] 4) Rewrite of first paragraph of 35.13.3 (as suggested by Jim Vellenga- thanks Jim) incorporated with minor changes. 5) Last paragraph of 35.13.3 improved (with stronger incentives to upgrade as per Gordon's suggestion- thanks). 6) vpi_user.h upgraded to include new functions added ('vpi_control' and 'vpi_register_cb'). Early feedback welcome- [ Michael R. especially ! ]. Charlie, please include this on next week's agenda (I'm hoping we can vote on it). Thanks again to all who participated and contributed to this effort!
