1. Reviewed Patent information

   - Chas reviewed the patent information which can be
     found at http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/pat-slideset.ppt

2. Reviewed minutes for 10/24/2007
   Chuck/Abi. ACCEPTED

3. Liaisons

   - No other meetings to report on.

4. New business

   - Finalize schedule (see separate email)
Chas got most dates from people. Will send out schedule once complete.

   - Should we meet more often/longer? (see separate email)
Ghassan would prefer to extend the meeting.
Abi would prefer not to extend the meeting. Abi would prefer creating sub-committees
to handle the meat of the problems. Chuck is okay with any of the proposals.
Decided for now that each person responsible for a major topic will try to form
informal working groups so that more progress can be made outside of our normal meeting.

   - Item 1456 Clarify, circumscribe restrictions on use of DPI context utilities
Ralph had found another issue when reviewing the changes which were passed for this
item. We should vote again to accept his new change.
     Abi/Chuck. PASSED (unanimous)

   - State of the Mantis Items. Any issues?
Chas described the changes to the mantis items. Asked that if anyone finds mistakes
     to please let him know.

   - Declare Item 2152 as a duplicate of Item 2097?
This is an SV-BC item. They need to close it out.

   - Update PASSED items to reflect draft 4 (i.e. 1837)
Champions are meeting tomorrow. Please update proposals to reflect draft 4.
Champions had a backlog, not sure now. Meeting every 2 or 3 weeks.
     Will be reviewing 1751 1942 1570 1367 tomorrow.

   - Move Item 1503 to SV-AC?
Chas asked that the SV-AC send the proposal back when they are done so we can
     review it.
Chuck moves to send to SV-AC. Bassam seconds. ACCEPTED (unanimous)

   - DPI changes for disabling tasks consuming time
Section 26-8 in 1800-2005. This has a protocol for disabling an exported task.
It must return a value of one. In the case of an imported task has been disabled
it can detect that. They are supposed to be transparent to the user that they
are calling a foreign task. Since SystemVerilog tasks don't return a value,
the return value is not needed. Chas recommended that Amit talk with Ralph and
     Doug Warmke.

   - vpiValid discussion
Need a lightweight object. The lifetime and having a value should go with the
type of the object. Creating different kinds of objects depending on whether or
not they are static or have values. Long discussion on what we should do with
this. Abi is getting towards a proposal. There is still a lot of disagreement
or misunderstanding to be worked out though.

   - No more new business.

5. Reviewed items with proposals

   - Item 2009 HDL example shown in detail 3 section 36.14 (Reference objects) has errors.
Chuck checked and the section in draft 4 has not changed. Chuck needs to update the
reference to be to draft 4.
     Abi/JimV. PASSED (unanimous) as amended.

Motion to adjourn. Chuck/JimV. Meeting adjourned at 1:00pm.

6. Reviewed SV-CC items with proposals (Straw poll only)

7. Old Business

8. Action items

   - Francoise and Bassam to continue work on assignment patterns.
   - Francoise to champion adding support for typed parameters to the
     typespec diagrams.
   - Abi/JimV to champion improving the ability to compare objects.
   - Steve to send out exact text on referring to a prior version.
   - Francoise and Bassam to figure out what should happen when you get the
     size of a string constant.
   - Bassam and Ghassan to prioritize list of issues with Read API.
   - Bassam to file a Mantis Item and add a proposal to resolve the issues
     with arguments to property inst.
   - Chas to send SV-BS request to work on Item 0672.
   - Chas to add to agenda a discussion of additional meeting times.
   - Chas to send SV-AC notification of our acceptance of the proposal for Item 1361.

   - Item 1741 1800-2005 Section 27.50 Issues with foreach diagram
   - Item 2054 Draft 3A, Section 40 - Deprecate Data Read API
   - Item 1952 "Null Argument" to mean "omitted Argument" may be confusing
