1.  Reviewed Patent information

   - Chas reviewed the patent information which can be
     found at http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/pat-slideset.ppt


2.  Reviewed minutes for 11/07/2007
   Chuck/Ralph.  ACCEPTED


3.  Liaisons

   - Other committees meeting weekly.  Deadline is approaching.
     SV-BC has made a lot of progress with name resolution and type
     parameters.  Clarified that a class can extend from a type
     parameter.  Might need some changes in the data model.  Also will
     effect class specializations proposal.

   - Champions met last week.  Reviewed a lot of items.  Francoise couldn't
     recall there being any SV-CC proposals.  Champions has caught up.

   - Steve reported that the new DASC IP encryption working group will
     have an impact on the SV-CC.  P1735 will be the new working group.
     Steve will act as liaison.

   - No other meetings to report on.


4.  New business

   - DPI call-chains and disabling named blocks
     Amit has had detailed discussions with Doug and Ralph on this.  Amit
     thinks it is not aligned with the way that tasks and functions are
     defined.  Doug is okay with the current specification.  Francoise
     asked if it was an enhancement.  Ralph thinks we have underspecified
     the current mechanism.  Amit doesn't consider it an enhancement.

   - vpiConcatOp and Item 1702
     Jim could not remember the issue.  SV-EC has not reached consensus
     on the issue.  vpiSize will need some clarifications.

   - Expressions with side effects
     Jim has written several proposals but he has not posted it yet.
     Abi likes the idea of disallowing anything that has a side effect
     except for vpi_get_value().  Jim put in an escape clause that allows
     the implementation to produce an error if it cannot figure out if it
     has side effects.  There may be a mantis item in SV-BC for this.
     Francoise will see if she can find it.

   - Mark Item 2086 as duplicate of 1942?
     Chuck/Ralph.  PASSED (unanimous)

   - Mark Items 2190 and 2154 as duplicates?
     Make 2190 the duplicate.
     Abi/Chuck.  PASSED (unanimous)

   - Dynamic Object handle lifetime (Item 2226)
     Jim pointed out that there is precedence for a handle (and it's lifetime)
     being separate from the object and it's lifetime.  Abi recognizes this
     is a change but that with the many new dynamic objects we need to change
     this.  Abi described how her new proposal works.  There is a new "aspect"
     property that up front tells the application the nature of the handle (or
     object?).  We did not reach a consensus on the topic and at the end of
     the alloted time agreed to take this issue up again at the next meeting.

   - Francoise and Bassam to continue work on assignment patterns.
   - Francoise to champion adding support for typed parameters to the
     typespec diagrams.
   - Abi/JimV to champion improving the ability to compare objects.
   - Steve to send out exact text on referring to a prior version.
   - Francoise and Bassam to figure out what should happen when you get the
     size of a string constant.
   - Bassam and Ghassan to prioritize list of issues with Read API.
   - Bassam to file a Mantis Item and add a proposal to resolve the issues
     with arguments to property inst.
   - Chas to send SV-BS request to work on Item 0672.
   - Chas to add to agenda a discussion of additional meeting times.
   - Chas to send SV-AC notification of our acceptance of the proposal for Item 1361.

   - Item 1741 1800-2005 Section 27.50 Issues with foreach diagram
   - Item 2054 Draft 3A, Section 40 - Deprecate Data Read API
   - Item 1952 "Null Argument" to mean "omitted Argument" may be confusing
   - Item 2094 Need to extend VPI to handle class specializations
   - Item 0748 vpiParent of var select can only be array var
   - Item 1599 The assertion API and VPI sections need changes as per mantis #805
   - Item 1230 How to represent packed arrays of complex types in VPI
   - Item 2218 Clarify meaning of vpi_compare_objects()
   - Item 2216 Details missing from VPI Generates object diagram
   - Item 2143 How should VPI handle index expressions with side effects?

    The next SV-CC meeting will be on 12/19/2007.
    The next P1800 meeting will be on 12/13/2007.
