I have uploaded two proposals for Mantis item 3884 (VPI support for soft constraints). These proposals are based on the current (26 Sep 2011) proposal for Mantis item 2987 (Soft constraints).
The proposal named 3884-VPISoftConstraints-minimal.pdf is a minimal version that takes care of adding a "vpiSoft" annotation to constraint expressions, and specifies an order for items returned by the vpiConstraint and vpiConstraintItem iterations. However, soft constraints also specify a priority of soft constraints from derived classes over those from superclasses, and I noticed that we don't have any way of getting the constraints from superclasses of vpiClassObj's. So the proposal 3884-VPISoftConstraints.pdf attempts to remedy this by introducing a vpiExtends relation for class objs.
