CPLD Implementation Tools: Getting Started
LicensingPLEASE NOTE: Our newer versions of Software, M1.5 and greater, do not require a license in order to run the Implementation Tools.For earlier versions of M1, such as M1.4, a description of how to obtain a license is described below: Before you start using the Xilinx Software, you must obtain a valid license for the product you purchased.
Windows 95 or NT UserTo run the Xilinx M1 software, the following environment variables must be set: set XILINX=C:\Xilinx
Please note: If you are using the Xilinx Tools 1.5 or greater you do not need the LM_LICENSE_FILE variable shown above. Licensing for the Core Implementation Tools was not needed starting in this version. The settings in the above example are Xilinx recommended and are the
default options presented to the install program. You may change these settings to correspond to your own directory structure.
Consult the Alliance series "vM1.x Install and Release document" for more specific details about installation.
Workstation UserTo run the Xilinx M1 software, the following environment variables must be set: setenv XILINX
