Actually, voting no simply means that this donation isn't accepted.
Voting yes means that this donation is accepted.
Whether this donation is accepted or is rejected has no bearing on
what is finally incoporated into SystemVerilog -- we see from
Accellera's VFV effort that although 4 donations were submitted and
accepted by the (second) "final deadline", and a process of
elimination focused the attention to a single donation, the Property
Specification effort seems to be going to a fifth donation that was
donated a year after that "final deadline".
So, I encourage the SV_CC committee to take the long view, and work
towards building the best language possible. Do not make short term
compromises to grant standard status on something that does not meet
your requirements. Deadlines have been extended many times by
Accellera.
Perhaps Synopsys will donate some of the C interface technology that
was part of SuperLog. Perhaps Stuart and/or Francoise will make a
donation from Cadence. Let us see how it plays out.
