Vassilios,

thanks a lot for providing your very valuable point of view. I very much appreciate the energy you spend on keeping SystemVerilog on track to meet its goals and deadlines.

On the other side I am not fully sure what you want to tell us, the SV CC DWG, with this email:
The vote on the donation is expected to judge the technical viability of the donation and how it can be applied to the goals we want to achieve. There is no linkage to schedules or other donations (since we only have one); the simple question is: "does it
fit our needs or not". If it does not, then we have to look for better alternatives or develop them on our own.

During the last conference call we had some good discussions about the DirectC donation; some very good questions have been asked and I think it became obvious that there is some room for improvement. Any improvement here can only result in an even better
interface, that can and will be accepted by multiple vendors, which is what we users want.

I am sure you as the TCC will maintain the strict neutrality this position requires, and help us to overcome any political issue that might arise in the team. The best way to isolate people that play political games is still to behave different.
I believe there is sufficient expertise and maturity in this working group to work as a team and provide a superior result. As such I think everybody in it fully understands that time-to-market is important, sometimes more than the quality of the
end-result. But I, as a member of this DWG, would be highly disappointed, if we sacrifice the quality of expected deliverables to a level that would result in an inferior result.

Best regards,
Michael
